2nd Lieutenant Heinrich Leon Seligsohn, London Regiment.

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Having brought up a party of men from the Transport lines, he took up a line in front of a village, where he was attacked in great force. He held out for many hours, but was finally driven back.  He rallied his men on the other side of the village, and with the greatest dash and determination led a. charge through the village and recaptured the line, thereby undoubtedly saving a very serious situatio.

For conspicuous gallantry in action. With a small party of headquarter details he attacked the enemy in a wood, killing and making prisoners of several, and capturing many machine guns.  His splendid example, until he was seriously wounded and unable to carry on, had a most inspiring effect on all ranks.
